It’s a great date today and I thought I’d mark it by having a little giveaway.
It’s always fun to do those – I know, I’ve done ONE before :D
No one sponsored this, so I’m just giving away stuff I like – 4 great fridge magnets and 2 cute tea towels, all to do with London or the UK.
I will ship anywhere in the world, so don’t hesitate to participate even if you live in Australia.
To be in the draw, all you have to do is leave me a comment telling me what your favorite city is and 3 reasons why you feel that way.
(You could also “like” my brand new Facebook page and follow me on Twitter or by Google Friend connect (look in the right sidebar), but I won’t hold it against you if you don’t :)
You will have 11 days to comment. Comments will close on November 22nd at 10pm London time.
I will use the Random Number Generator to pick the winner.

4 awesome fridge magnets and 2 cotton tea towels
I think that about covers it all. Leave a comment before it’s too late, why would you say no to a little pre-Christmas present from London? :)

Grrrrreat! I love giveaways. But … I don’t have a favourite city :-(
Hm…so I’ll adapt your question. The city I absolutely want to visit is NY. I want to stay for at least two weeks with the whole gang, rent an apartment, go for walks, visit museums, do mega monster shoppings, go to street cafes, take a ferry or two, go to the cinema etc etc.
Voilà!
Chicago!!! It’s my hometown, my family lives there, and Christmas in downtown is magical! I could probably add that it is wonderfully diverse, always has something going on, and is a hotbed of cultural activities. But then I would have to write about the world reknown Art Museum, botanical gardens and zoo. Those are my three! Or three times three….
I want to say that my favourite city is Tartu, but it would seem like choosing sandwich if you are being served lobster. So, my “lobster” must be London. I love the tube, I love that everyone speaks proper English, I love how they smile (unlike Northerners), I love that traffic runs the wrong way and my mind is always blown by that, I love that it’s warm even when it’s cold, I love that I don’t get melanoma each morning, I love red, I love that there are princes and princesses running around everywhere, I love the history, scents, Tower, crows, bridges, its hugeness, those little cute houses where everyone has their own yard… Really, I don’t understand how one can NOT love London.
It’s hard for me to choose a favorite city, but I can say that I have LOVED my monthly trips down to london and I’m going to miss them so much and boy oh boy wouldn’t these little tokens be a lovely reminder when I’m back in the states?! :) -xo
Kuressaare. Barcelona. Pariis. Aberdeen. NY. Kazbegi.
I was the lucky winner of you last giveaway, but if you’re using the random number generator, I could always get lucky again! My favorite city is Chester. I love the black and white buildings, even though they’re Victorian rather than Elizabethan as most tourists assume.
My favourite city is definitely London:
1. I love that you can walk across London and move through completely different areas in a very short space, due to the way London evolved out of little villages and private estates.
2. I love the history I feel in London, the sense that there is a story down every street, the evidence in the street names, the routes, the squares, the variety of buildings from the 2000 year old Roman wall to the fascinating modern architecture and everything in between.
3. I love the energy that most big cities have, but because I know London pretty well, I love the feeling that I am part of it whenever I’m there.
Tallinn!
Just because it`s my beautiful, historical hometown!
Ma ei suuda kunagi otsustada, kui “lemmikumate” asjade valimiseks läheb. Ei ole saanud nii palju maailmas ringi reisida, et kohe öelda oskaks, milline see kõige-kõige koht on. Pakun lemmiklinnaks Tartu, sest sinna on alati nii hea tagasi minna, noorusaeg tuleb meelde,Toomemägi, ülikool, Verner, raamatuantikvariaadid, huvitavad muuseumid, sõbrad.
Nähtud maailmalinnadest meeldib väga San Francisco.
My vote also goes to Tartu. It’s small enough to be cozy and big enough to have all the places and things I need. And of course it’s my university town, so it had a very special part in my growing up who I am today. Oh, those were the days…:-)
I’m a Londoner so I have to say London!
1) Loads to see and do that is cheap or free
2) Great food, I love the cheap Japanese restaurants by Leicester Square
3) Londoners are very friendly (apart from the no eye-contact on the tube thing!)
Two cities:
1. Gdansk (or Danzing) in Poland; I used to live there for 11 years when I was a kid. I’ve got so many memories from those times. Probably the best in my pre-adult life. And I have lived in many other cities in different regions of Poland: Zamosc, Jarocin, Raciborz, Zabrze. Gdansk is the one I always enjoy visiting.
2. Blackpool; I just love comming there before or after the season, when there are no tourists there. It’s so quiet and peaceful. I love British architecture, life style and the fact that everyone seems to be so friendly – we don’t get much of this in Poland.
I HEART PARIS
Pourquoi? The overindulgence of:
1. Pain au chocolat :)
2. French knickers :)
3. French bubbles :)
Pärnu, sest:
1. see on mu sünnilinn
2. see võrdub suvi, päike, rand jne
3. seal on osa perest ja sõbrad
My favourite city is London – seriously ! – because we now live in France and London just epitomises everything British that I love and miss. I really must take the kids there some time soon – Sophie has been begging to go there ! I love the black cabs and double decker buses. It’s great to have so many famous monuments in such a small area. And I love wandering through the parks looking at the squirrels in the middle of such a big city.
It’s all about London for me because of:
1. The West End
2. Its history
3. It’s a meeting point of cultures
For me, it is London
1) Memories from when I lived there. Somehow London feels like home to me. Everytime I fly in, I sigh and think “oh, home again”.
2) Bacon and Egg Sandwiches, Minstrels, Polos, Banoffee Pie, Yorkie…yes, I realise people don’t usually rave about English food, but again..home
3) The people – those who lived there when I did, those who have moved there since, those who always seem to visit when I am there :)
London! I have loved it passionately since my first visit.
reasons (shortly):
1. best food ever
2. atmosphere (i don’t really know what it exactly is, but i just feel so-so relaxed when i’m there)
3. theater- some of my best teater experiences have been in London.
My favourite city is near where we live – Norwich! Why?
1) Everything is near and handy
2) It has a fabulous cathedral
3) A bit soppy, but all my kids were born there.
Any Italian city – they just are just beautiful!
I’ve been to so many, but as I’ve grown in my years, my heart is drawn to where my family is… so it is not beautiful or fashionable or artistic, but my favorite city is not really a city. It is a town. Kirksville. Why because my parents are there with loads of love. When I take the kids they can play outside without fear of the neighbors. And the people in the midwest are some of the kindest and most generous that I have met. :) After living in so many places and seeing the world, be it ever so humble, there is no place like home.
My favourite city is Lincoln. It has all the lovely English good and grocery stores that supply anything you want from all over the world. But it has a sleepy small town feel, and the walking and bicycling are great. I love to walk up Steep Hill to the Cathedral and Castle and see the Magna Carta and then go and drink at the Magna Carta.
It’s also nice to know that there are a thousand years of my family’s history in that area.
My favourite city is Oxford because the architecture is breathtaking, the atmosphere makes me feel like I’m a part of something really old and sophisticated, plus I met the man of my life there :)
The giveaway products are so cute! And what a great giveaway indeed!
I think my favorite city is Rome – reason will be because this is where I felt really really happy with my hubby! It was like our honeymoon at our 1 year anniversary! X
It’s a tie between Oxford and Cambridge for my favorite city. I can’t pick just three reasons, so here are many of the reasons I love the two cities: I love the small town feel of those both places; the parks are amazing; the culture is so varied… you’ll never know who you’ll meet or where they’ll be from; loads of interesting history; stunning architecture; you can get around without a car; and lots of lovely pubs.
I live in the U.S. but try to visit friends in the UK every few years. My trips have always been my favorite!
-Kristen
My favourite city is Paris. It makes my heart sing and my soul dance. It is a place of beauty.

Kas just kôige-kôige, aga mulle kohe meeldib Haapsalu, sinu lapsepôlvelinn.
