Pre-Christmas – Rush, rush, rush

Pre-Christmas – Rush, rush, rush

The next two weeks are going to go by in fast-forward mode – my calendar is full of notes, appointments and to do lists :| I no longer have Wednesdays off work to run errands, spend time with the kids or cook dinners. In addition, I’ve decided to join the “12 days of CrossFit” challenge at my CrossFit gym and that means that I have to fit in a class every freaking day from this Monday until the 14th of December.

There are also various work/school/nursery related Christmas functions AND a costume hunt for my little “Joseph” for tomorrow’s nativity play (eek!! so soon!!!) AND Christmas presents going overseas that need to be wrapped and posted asap. [...]

Summer fever

When I got home last night a zombie baby had replaced Oliver. He did not react at all to seeing me and once I took his temperature, it was 38.5C. A very hot night followed and even with a few doses of paracetamol he still woke up with 38.5C. I am battling the same bug, [...]

On Wednesdays and potty training

I had such a good day (my day off) yesterday that I went to bed at 7:36 :) That’s what happens when you go at 110% for an entire day. I didn’t actually do anything special, just the usual – took Oskar to school, went for my run, came home, played with Oliver until a [...]

19 months and still singing

19 months and still singing

I have mentioned already that Oliver likes to sing. Lately we’ve been having this “conversation” several times a day: Oliver: “Baa baa back shee?” Me: “Baa baa, black sheep, have you any wool…” “Tinkle tinkle?” “Twinkle, twinkle, little…” “Mõmmi?” “Mõmm-mõmm, mõmm-mõmm, nutab karujõmm…” “Row row bot? “Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream…” [...]

Gone potty

We had the perfect potty training weather this weekend – hot and then hotter and then a bit cooler and then pretty hot again. I am already picturing myself saving a big chunk of the rain forest by only using 1 or 2 nappies a day. One for the night and another one for when [...]

Summer is back…

Summer is back…

… until Sunday, they say :| I was going to write a nice mushy marshmallow post on how everything is cool and groovy, but then Oskar came back from his camp and was totally sunburned.  I am such a sunblock nazi and it’s just terrifying for me to think how he’s fried today.  I had [...]

On Wednesdays and both boys

Went to bed at 9 last night. My ‘days off’ wear me out. It doesn’t help that I cram so much into my Wednesdays. Yesterday it was taking Oskar to school, a 9km run, coffee with friends and a sleeping Oliver, yoga class, food shopping, picking up Oskar from school, buying and picking up some [...]

At the Polka

At the Polka

Every Wednesday afternoon after school, Oskar goes to a drama class at the Polka Theatre. We usually get there at least 20 minutes early, but both boys love to play at the theatre, inside as well as outside. As far as what Oskar does at the class – I have no idea :)  He says [...]

This morning we had summer

This morning we had summer

After I dropped Oskar off at school and went for a run, we had little Ellen visiting again. The kids ran around outside in the sunshine and stuffed their faces with berries.  Oliver ran around without a nappy and peed on the ground every 2 minutes :)  Only once did we catch it on the [...]
