Anniversary weekend: Rest&Relaxation in style
We didn’t buy each other presents for our wedding anniversary, we spent a day in a spa hotel instead. Last year we had done the same and loved it so much that we decided to make this an annual treat from now on – a totally perfect way to celebrate clocking up another year of being married :)
We went to the Four Season’s spa hotel in Hampshire. It’s less than an hour’s drive from home, but it’s surrounded by nothing but fields so it feels like a million miles away from London.
The staff there is extremely nice and attentive. Just like last year, this year we also had a little something waiting for us in the room when we checked in.
The walkways connecting the spa buildings to the hotel are glass tunnels that let you see the surroundings but mean that you don’t have to go outside to get to the spa from your room. In December that is a very good feature :)
Outside there are cute little gardens and once you wonder through them you can also go for a longer walk into the surrounding fields.
We had a couple of treatments in the spa (above) on Saturday and spent the rest of the day in the pool and in two of the saunas. In the evening we had some very fancy meals at the restaurant and then crashed into enormously big snowy white bed and didn’t move until past 8 am :D
On Sunday I had one more treatment, followed by a 10k run on the treadmill. Then it was time to grab a few spa snacks go to (my new snack combo: prunes and hazelnuts :), get in the car and drive back to reality.
(Reality greeted us with two boisterous boys who were overjoyed to see us again. Thankfully our batteries were fully recharged and were happily gave them 110% of our attention for Sunday afternoon and evening.)
