Trying out imPRESS nails

I have given up eating sugar, but I cannot stop picking on my cuticles. It’s a bad habit that I’ve had since childhood and as a result my fingertips are wrecked.

The only thing that so far has kept me from picking/biting is a 3-week manicure with Bio Sculpture Gel, but there are drawbacks: the process takes 1.5 hours, costs £35 and I can stand them only for 2 weeks before the regrowth drives me nuts and I get them redone.

This week I’m trying out a much faster and cheaper option: ImPRESS press-on nails.  I have always steered clear of press-on nails because they’re usually really weirdly shaped and look very fake. These beauties, however, fit me perfectly:

I love it that I can trim them as I like my nails really short and I love it that they’re extremely thin – once you press them on they almost look like melting onto your nails.  My thumb is the only finger that is a bit wider than the options available but it only has about 2mm of my own nail showing on either side, so it’s not too bad.

At £7.99 I’ll be stocking up on these nails for sure.  I am yet to see how long they last (should be a week), but in any case it’s a very quick and inexpensive way to get nice nails.  And as for my bad habit

Has anyone tried them more than once?  Are they easy to get off?  How long have they lasted?

  1. I’m interested in how you end up liking them. I got a few packs at BlogHer, but have yet to try them out. I still think of press-on nails like the ones from my youth.

  2. I have tried and absolutely loved these! So easy to apply and like you, I found them to be a really good fit. Mine have always lasted for the full week in fact, I’ve worn them for just over a week before. They’re actually surprisingly easy to take off to say how well they stay on too which I know doesn’t make much sense but honestly, they pop straight off!

  3. I took them off after 4 days, just to see how easily they’d come off :) Thumb ones I had to tug a bit but otherwise it was easy to pop them off. Today I’m already back to picking on my cuticles so new pink ones are going on tonight!
